Veronica Mars Creator Goes to Space

The CW's new development slate has been revealed by Variety. The network has been focused nearly entirely on young, soapy series such as Gossip Girl DVD Box setl and 90210, with a couple of slots reserved for genre projects like Smallville and Supernatural - though they also have had a good sized success recently with a show blending these elements, Vampire Diaries. The project that we're the most curious about is Plymouth Rock, a science fiction series. Variety describes the project as a "soap", noting it "centers on young people on a ship traveling to a distant planet in order to colonize and save the human race." The soap meets sci-fi approach sounds a bit reminiscent of ABC's recent Defying Gravity, Smallville 1-8 DVD BoxSet but what sets Plymouth Rock apart is producer Rob Thomas, the creator of the late, great Veronica Mars. Actor Matt Bomer, star of the new USA series White Collar (and known to Chuck fans as Bryce Larkin) is writing Nashville with Neal Dodson.
