Tennant named most popular Doctor

David Tennant has topped a poll of the most popular Doctor who DVD Box set leads in the sci-fi show's 46-year history.

The Scottish actor has played the Time Lord since 2005, when he took over from Christopher Eccleston.

Battlestar Galactica 1-4 dvd

Tennant's five-year run, which ends in 2010 when he is replaced by newcomer Matt Smith, has been named as viewers' favourite - winning almost 26% of votes from readers of Doctor who DVD Box set Magazine.

Other actors to have portrayed the famous character include Tom Baker and Jon Pertwee.
